Jane Austen Regency Week 

In 2023 I had the opportunity of working in the UK. 

I was with a film crew inside a stage from sunrise to sunset, away from where we were staying.

So imagine my surprise when, on my first day off, early in the morning, still tired and drowsy, I stepped out of the hotel... and into another era!

It was my first time in the UK and I was welcomed to town by a parade of characters straight out of a Jane Austen novel.

These captures sum up that first weekend in Alton: Jane Austen Regency Week. 

A festival that takes place in 3 counties in Hampshire in June. The program includes pageants, museum visits history lessons and, of course, dances. The main ball held every year resembles any Austen romance story.

This is how I choose to remember my first experience there. 

I headed to Hampshire for one movie and stepped into another 😉
